thanksgiving day

oh, thanksgiving. one of the most boring holidays ever, in my opinion.

though the older and poorer i get the more i enjoy the whole home-cooked meal thing.

i made two apple pies a couple of days ago. one was taken in to pizza hut to be eaten by my coworkers (scott and matt burns said they didn't get ANY, which leads me to believe that al ate it all himself). the other was taken to mom's to be consumed in front of the television.

i woke up this morning, gave the cat some wet food (it's thanksgiving for cats too, you know) and took the dog out to not do anything, and then locked the dog in the bathroom (apparantly it's not thanksgiving for dogs). off to moms, sat around on the couch reading and making fun of the macy's thanksgiving day parade with adam ("happy macy's day! ...wait, is it macy's day? what's it called?" -adam "the macy's THANKSGIVING day parade? it's not MACY's day, adam." -susan) i'll admit we both guffawed at the runaway balloon injury. we're mean, that's why.

we ate, caryn took about 50 pictures of jake the cat, and we sat around until about 4. now we're at dad's waiting for giblet gravy and chicken necks and stuff. um.......yay?

well, my favorite part of the boringest holiday is when adam commented on the news spotlight on soup kitchens -- "You know, I like a black man with a plan. They're all like POP! POP! POP! LET'S GO!!!!"
