The Clapjacks

we'll start another band. one that's just us clapping different rhythms (......that word is spelled so weird. it took me forever to get through.) we started brainstorming for a name and she said something like flip flap, i said flapjacks, and she said clapjacks. and so it was.

there's a lot on my musical plate at the moment:

The Gallies (mere & i's bluegrass/folk worship/testimonial travelin' band)
The Clapjacks (mere & i explore a new brand of music, and maybe bring a couple other people into it so that we feel required to change the name)
The Aaron Baker Experience (my solo project)





caryn's in boston right now, checking out berklee. vaya con dios, mi hermana.

meredith and i could probably also start a jimmy eat world cover band. we've totally got "sweetness" down. ask, maybe we'll give a rendition. i know "Jimmy Eat Baldwin" is taken (it's on the back of one of my spotted cow t's), so maybe we'd have to go with "Jimmy Eat Eyewoo" for that one.

i told adam that for my next birthday, what i want from him and caryn is a compilation cd. a compilation boasting such tracks as "happy grass hut" and the ill-famed "ripple, nipple." so...they should probably start recording that pretty soon. and coming up with a few more songs together to fill it up. and hey, if they want, they can give me my present a few months early.
