the best thing ever

the best thing ever (up to this point in my life):

i ate dinner with sarah dignal and a seven year old named luke thompson (YES, that would make him the son of one Rob Thompson, IWU administrator extraordinaire). luke was really funny in that kid cute way (up to a point). as we were leaving baldwin we spotted jon and went over for greetings and salutations. conversation flowed and somehow we got to a point where jon mentioned IN FRONT OF THE SEVEN YEAR OLD SON OF ROB THOMPSON that when talking with guys in his unit last night about the pizza (that i hook them up with), one of them mentioned that to be getting this much pizza jon must be sleeping with me or something. AHHH. immediately sarah claps her hands over luke's ears and starts screaming "YOU DIDN'T HEAR THAT! YOU DIDN'T HEAR THAT!" we're all laughing insanely hard by then and with sarah's hands still glued to his head, luke yells "I HEARD THAT!!!"

later, in the car, luke asked the same four questions over and over ad naseum

1. Can I call you Phil?
2. Can I get a drink?
3. Can I drive?
4. Can I park the car?

I was getting a little annoyed so I finally told him

"The next time you ask a question, Jesus is going to cry."

and then i turned to dignal and whispered how i couldn't wait to have kids and do the parenting thing.

and then he asked another question. and laughed like a maniac.

Jesus wept.
