some things

gosh, i did a lot today.

meredith and i drove down to carmel to the fashion mall (keystone at the crossing area) to pay a little visit to the "genius bar" at the apple store so she could get her options key replaced. we hit up the cheese shop (ooooooh, ooooooh, it was blissful). we also went in just about every high-fashion store there was and checked out the clothes (i need more money, dad). we found a million beautiful button-downs for the preppy boyfriends we dont have, and that was frustrating. then we headed off to pizza hut, where my dad met us. there's a flipping sweet deal on bread items right now (5 pieces of garlic cheese bread, 5 regular buffet-style sticks, and 5 cheesy sticks for $6.69--you save over $5...i did the math, division and everything). caryn called dad's cell while we were there and i answered as "her new stepmom," to which she later confided that she thought dad was on a date with a "promiscuous woman."

then mere and i hit up target where i got dignal's birthday present early. they had garden state for $19.99 but i didn't have enough cash on me to get it. oh, and...i'm not....allowed. yeah.

next off to barnes n noble for to spend my Xmas gift card from dad. oooooooh. it was bliss. unfortunately garden state was $29.99 there, so i didn't get it AGAIN. and...i'm not....allowed. yeah. but i did get BOOKS. BOOKS!

The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper (see archives)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
The Awakening by Kate Chopin
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
My Antonia by Willa Cather
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (needed my own copy)

i almost bought another book due to it's interesting title, but i'm not going to tell you what it was. i think only one reader would really appreciate it.

somehow i'm going to have to keep myself in line coz i'm still plowing my way through James Joyce's Ulysses (jon's book)...and it's tough. BUT I'M DETERMINED. i even read 30+ pages yesterday.

and then, just when we thought our day was over, jon got bored and wanted to play with his new car and drove us out to james dean's grave and then around marion a bit.

ahhhhh! anita just squeaked. heather and karissa have this blow up pink alien in their bathroom that squeaks when it's touched. and i can hear it sometimes down here. and it's always a bit startling. i'm not hurt; i'm just startled.

You can hear it down there? Well, I guess she can be loud sometimes. She doesn't like it when the door squishes her.
