quilting and rock operas

i spent a nice, sunny, lazy saturday afternoon in the weaving room. quilting. well, not to the quilting part yet -- as of right now i'm still just sewing triangles of cloth together to form squares. lots of them.

i figured if i was going to spend hours in the weaving room, i'd better bring some tunes. sometimes there's a barely functioning cd player in the weaving room, but today i decided to live up to the art building. if i'm going to spend time in there as a fake art major, i may as well act like it, right?

i took my turntable with me, along with a few choice records. having been born in late fall of '82, my parents started me out right with a turntable instead of a tape recorder. i had a properly musical childhood (they would put me to sleep listening to rock music).

so i sewed today listening to the partridge family, simon & garfunkel, and finally to Jesus Christ Superstar. and i enjoyed every note of it.

and now i appear to have been ditched by all my friend groups, so i guess i'll head back and do it all over again.

once the garden state soundtrack is finished.
