dude, where's my camera?

so scott and i went to walmart around 11:30 tonight and purchased a digital camera. i'd spent many a trip examining each camera extensively until i'd decided upon one that pleased me most -- a Pentax something-or-other featuring 6 megapixels and 3x/4x zoom, all for just under $200. pretty good deal, i thought. we got someone to help us out, she had to go in the back to find one, took it up front for us, and we headed for the register and paid and left. when we got home and i'd changed and then leapt upon my new toy, i tore it open only to find...

two cables, a couple of AA batteries, and an instruction manual.

NO CAMERA.

dag, yo.

so we hopped back in the car and tore into the walmart parking lot and headed inside with our two-hundred dollar cables and batteries and spoke with the manager working that night. turns out that if the employee had to look in the back for our camera, chances where we were given the box for the display model. no, we can't just order one for you. no, we called noblesville and carmel and they dont have one either. hey, i bet we're not selling this anymore and they just haven't taken it off the display yet.

*sigh*

so i got a full refund to my credit card, thank heavens. and instead bought a very similar model for ten dollars cheaper (same price when you figure shipping), and added an extended warranty, card reader, and battery charger in the mix from bandhphotovideo and it's all due at my front door in 3-5 days.

and that's my digital camera adventure thus far. the things i do for you, photoblog.
