can i get a what what

ok, i'll update.

my mom came through her surgery just dandy, i went and saw her today and she seemed comfortable and okey dokey. so it's all good. i just missed adam's visit, and was getting ready to leave when caryn arrived.

yesterday i had the whole day off (having given my shift at work away to dear little kevin) and headed with my laundry to dad's. i finished off adam's load of clothes (i get extreme pleasure in folding other people's clothes....servanthood....IWU has really driven that home) and started my own laundry. while waiting i watched a documentary on the History Channel about Cereal. yes, breakfast cereal. you'd be surprised how long those cheesy cartoon characters have been around.

dad and adam returned from studio 15 (i'm sorry, that's shop talk for ccp to know and you to ponder). dad mentioned he was heading to anderson university that evening to watch AU's production of The Music Man with uncle larry, aunt susan, and caryn. i decided heck, i'll tag along. i got to see caryn's room and write on her loft (CARYN SUCKS!) in sharpie. dad fixed her printer (apparantly it wasn't plugged in. snort.) and then we headed to the show. the seats were kind of bad and were really crowded anyways, but other than that the show was pretty dang good. caryn warned us ahead of time that they'd gone "minimalistic" with the set -- there was no set, really. having seen ccp do the music man before, that scared me. but they pulled it off wonderfully...all the set they had was a couple of doorframes carried around by two guys dressed as workmen. they were good at hamming it up.

after the show i was starving, so was aunt susan. so we headed to the local IHOP sans caryn. this was my first time IHOP'ing. true. it was pretty dang good despite the fact that my dad's food wasn't brought out until the rest of us had finished ours and then some.

i've been in anderson before, sporadically throughout my childhood (being Church of God people, of course i've been to their Mecca). i'd just never really looked at it as a college student before. jon, you need to transfer. anderson has a million more things than IWU. great music program, so don't try to pull that card. but get this -- the town has a PANERA (yes, jon, panera), starbucks, ihop, old navy, kohl's, ........tons of other stuff too. i should've written it all down. holy crap. caryn's lucky.

ok well, time to work. hasta.
